Piran, albeit small, is generally well regarded among the tourists and the local population. It’s beauty is bound to charm you, though it might lack things to do for the more demanding among you. For some it might be a nice place to visit on a day trip, for others a romantic experience to enjoy a few days.
I recommend that you walk all the way around the port city to appreciate its sights and sounds. There are numerous restaurants and shops as well as the ability to jump straight into the clear blue water if you wish. Perhaps the best trick is to get a seat in a restaurant at sunset and enjoy the spectacular show as the sun dips into the sea.
Absolutely beautifully restored church on top of the hill. When we visited the outside of its Bell tower was under repair. We purchased a combi ticket for the tower and the church. The view from the top of the tower is stunning. The history of the restoration work is informative and interesting. The decoration and art works inside of the church are really beautiful.
